I am moving to San Francisco. I wll need back surgery soon. Maybe disk replacement. Who do you recommend?

I have heard there is a good doctor out there that does titanium disk replacement. Anybody have any experience with this? San Francisco area is where my job will be taking me. Thanks. Joe

chiropractic vs physical therapy? for my career?

how do u guys think about the career of chiropractic and physical therapy. ( would be better if you are on the profession)
in my opinion, chiropractic is little riskier then P.T because of negative concepts of the people. They help patients to stay at their top natural healing point by fixing the problems of muskeletal and nervous system.
Physical therapy is really rewarding career. Their job is to help patients to overcome their injuries by supporting and motivating them.
I really have hard time on picking between chiro and p.t. what do u guys think that should b good?

Can delaying disc replacement surgery cause me to become crippled?

I need to have the last disc in my back replaced due to Degenerative Disc Disorder. It is so bad the orthopedic doc can’t even see the disc on my MRI. My husband may be losing his job and therefore the insurance coverage. If I put off the surgery for an unknown amount of time can this cause me to become crippled or wheelchair bound? Or will I just be in excruciating pain (like I am now). I am not sure if it matters that I have 4 small children at home or not. But a sedetary lifestyle is not in the future for me any time soon. Any help would be great!
I do hve the surgery scheduled, and I am not nervous at all, I just want to be out of pain. It is scheduled for Dec. due to that being the only time family can fly down to help with the recovery. If I do get it done, will 2 weeks be enough healing time? They will be going through the front using my previous csection scar. If any has had this done, you imput would be great!

Painful Back Pain, Chiropractor or Doctor?

Im a 25 year old male who does a lot of heavy lifting at my job. Ive been having some painful lower back pain and cant take much more of the pain.. Ive been told by some to go see a chiropractor and ive been told by others to see a doctor because chiropractors only offer quick fixes and their procedures can leave u with more pain.. Please help provide insight!

-thanks-

Why are so many people scared of chiropractic treatments?

Most medical doctors advise you to not go to the chiropractic doctor at all and Many people ask dose it hurt and a million other questions before going if they go at all.I personally think I would be in a wheel chair if not for one of these doctors.I was thrown out of a auto in a wreck and suffered intense back pain. My G.P.C.would only prescribed pain pills. Finally I went to a chiropractic doctor for a series of treatments and improved remarkably at a slow but steady rate. After six weeks I was able to return to my job working at heavy manual labor.
