My Mom recently had disk replacement surgery in her back. The doctor said she needs to have water physical..?

theraphy but her insurance will not pay for this. We have access to a theraputic pool but I need to know how slow to start off and what types of exercise I need to do with her. She is recovering great. She is not overweight and is in good health otherwise. Just need to know where to start or if there is somewhere I can find information. She had replacement of 2 discs and a titanium cage put in. She is wearing a brace on her back and has to do this for 3 months (even for theraphy).
Thank you so much. This does help and I am calling a therapist to see what we can do. I did try the physical theraphy thing but they denied that also but it was definately worth a try. Thanks again

Can delaying disc replacement surgery cause me to become crippled?

I need to have the last disc in my back replaced due to Degenerative Disc Disorder. It is so bad the orthopedic doc can’t even see the disc on my MRI. My husband may be losing his job and therefore the insurance coverage. If I put off the surgery for an unknown amount of time can this cause me to become crippled or wheelchair bound? Or will I just be in excruciating pain (like I am now). I am not sure if it matters that I have 4 small children at home or not. But a sedetary lifestyle is not in the future for me any time soon. Any help would be great!
I do hve the surgery scheduled, and I am not nervous at all, I just want to be out of pain. It is scheduled for Dec. due to that being the only time family can fly down to help with the recovery. If I do get it done, will 2 weeks be enough healing time? They will be going through the front using my previous csection scar. If any has had this done, you imput would be great!

I am supposed to have an artificial disc replacement surgery, but my insurance won't cover it!!?

My insurance won’t cover the back surgery because it is new to the U.S. My doctor recommended an alternative surgery called a fusion, but it has some downfalls to it, like limited mobility of that part of my spine. Does anyone know anything about either of these types of surgery. If so, what is your opinion on what I should do. My doc says that the fusion surgery is good but in time I could end up having to have another surgery because when they put titanium rods in my spine, it limits the mobility in my spine, thus breaking down more discs in my back. What should I do? I am in so much pain & just want to take care of it somehow. Please help.

Does any know about effectiveness of Spinal Decompression non-surgical threatment?

I am suffering from chronic back pain which is caused by a raptured disc in my lower back which also sends burning pain to my left leg. The amount of pain is emmense, sometimes intollerable. The specialist told me to do surgery but I am reluctant to that because I know a few people who did surgery but their condition is no better than what it used to be before surgery. A friend gave me the phone number of a doctor who claims that he treats this with spinal decompression in a machine and asks for ,000 which insurance won’t cover.

Does anyone know if that is going to be effective or do surgery. Please advise from your experience and knowledge that which movements are good to do, which physical activities and what to avoid? You would have helped a person who is dying from pain. Thank you.

Anyone had artificial disc replacement surgery?

I am a health insurance agent and am working with a client who has been recommended to have the Prestige ST artificial disc implanted to relieve her DDD. Her insurance company is denying payment for the procedure as it is "unproven", in spite of its FDA approval.

In situations like this, I have found my best approach is to list precedent cases where coverage has been provided for the procedure. Anyone out there with United Health Care coverage that has had this surgery, and convinced them to pay for it???

Thanks!

How much will an insurance company pay for a whiplash injury?

I was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer at a low speed (10 mph). There was only about 0 damage to the bumper of my SUV. I went to the emergency room and had x-rays and went to a chiropractor for 8 weeks for whiplash. The chiropractor charged 00 for treatment & the emergency room bills came up to 00. So, my total medical bills were 00. The other driver’s insurance company accepts 100% liability. Is 00 too much money to expect the other guy’s car insurance company to pay for treatment of a whiplash injury? I’m in NC.

Independent providers of Health/Medical, Dental, and possibly Vision, and Chiropractic insurance in Michigan?

I am starting a "temp" assignment that has an "indefinite" term in the IT field. Because of this, the "benefits" they are offering me are twice as costly and half as good. I wonder if I should explore independent insurance or not. Any good recommendations? (I live in southwest Michigan if it matters…)

Laser spine surgery results now need a lawyer I think.?

I have had two laser spine surgeries. My back is no better than it was before, the doctor was terminated from the group after the second surgery, i cant swing my gulf clubs at all now and my insurance company will not pay. The insurance paid the first time but not the second. Said there were billing irregularities after the second. My issue is twofold…still in great pain and screwed by either the insurance company or the facility. Does anyone know of a lawyer in Florida that might handle this type of case.

Should i see a chiropractor for neck and back pain/stiffness?

I have stiffness, almost like a constant "kink" in my neck (like the one you get from sleeping on it wrong) and dull pain in my back. My instinct it to crack them or stretch them but nothing happens. More often than not, the pain seems to move to my arms, particularly elbow pain and overall numbness in my hands and arms.
Is the chiropractor the person to see for this? Can it be covered by insurance (low income family so that is important.)

By the way, I’m an 18 year old high school student.

alternative to expensive chiropractic treatments?

Hi,

I was in a minor car accident and the doctor said I will need 18 visits. The at fault insurance company is covering only 4 visits. Is there anything i can do as i will not be able continue after the 4 visits. Any suggestions on alternatives.
